Ethical & Privacy Policy
At Labrador Computers, we understand that people use their computers for very different reasons. We will not deliberately vet files on your computer. However, if in the course of repairing your computer it is found to contain material that is illegal, we will have no hesitation in reporting you, or the computers owner, to the relevant authorities. In this instance, we reserve the right to make copies of your files to use as evidence of your involvement in unlawful activities. We recognise that when surfing the internet you may occasionally download files that are not to your requirements. It is obvious to us when this happens because of where the files are stored in your computer. Thus, you should have nothing to fear from the law if unlawful files appear on your computer due to accidental downloads.
Labrador Computers is an equal opportunities employer.
Labrador Computers will not knowingly discuss your account, or give information about your computer system, your computers files (with the exception of illegal material as discussed above), your address, or any other information about you to anyone who does not have just cause for knowing this information. Neither will we sell, give, or in any other way impart your details to any other organisation. We value your privacy to such an extent that any details we may have about you which may be kept on computer files, is kept on an independent computer which is not connected to the internet. This prevents hackers tapping into our system and finding out about you. Files will be kept on computer for not more than one month of the last action on your account, when a hard copy of your file will be made. This hard copy will be kept for six years to satisfy H. M. Customs And Excise VAT inspectors.
